Description
February 28 & March 1: Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra presents Raise the Roof! This special program is one of celebration, community and the American spirit. Through the generous support of the Fletcher Bay Foundation we are showcasing our new set of timpani in American composer Michael Daugherty’s thrilling concerto, Raise the Roof! performed by Gunnar Folsom. Kevin Puts won the Pulitzer Prize in 2010 and his work for orchestra, Millennium Canons, will have its Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra debut. Closing the performance in grand fashion is Beethoven’s Chorale Fantasy featuring the BSO, Mark Salman on piano, and the Community SING! Chorus. Directions from the Kitsap Peninsula: Bainbridge Performing Arts is centrally located at 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island - a scenic drive from areas throughout Kitsap County. Allow the time to expand your visit to include pre-show dining at one of the Island’s many fine restaurants. Or consider time for browsing in the Island’s art galleries and retail shops. From State Route 3, exit onto Highway 305 and proceed south. Bainbridge Performing Arts is located approximately six miles beyond the Agate Pass Bridge. Turn right at the stop light on Winslow Way. Go through town, turning right at the stop sign on Madison Avenue. Travel a short distance until you see City Hall on the right side of the road. Turn right in front of City Hall and proceed to Bainbridge Performing Arts, directly ahead.
