Mimir Chamber Music Festival
Fort Worth, Texas, USA
Early July
Description
Founded in 1998, the Mimir Chamber Music Festival features outstanding artists from the world’s leading orchestras, music schools and concert halls who share a love for chamber music. Named for the Norse god of wisdom, Mimir has garnered praise from critics and audience alike, and was cited in The New York Times and Travel & Leisure magazine as a summer “hot spot” for Classical music. The 2013 festival marks our 16th season. Mimir will feature a modified format from previous years. The 7-day festival will feature three Mimir Artists concerts and two Young Artists concerts to be given by a pair of up-and-coming professional string quartets who will be coached daily by our faculty. It has long been the aim of Mimir to attract pre-formed quartets as Young Artists and Mimir’s impact on these groups will be long lasting as they chart their careers.
